Potato Slacking Thursday!

Another thursday come to pass! And today was really a slacking day! You will know why as you read on ne!

This is the cat that took up "residence" in the carpark of block 23 where I live. It and another black and white cat (which is always away except dinner time) is being taken care of by a couple in our block. They have their own cat bowls which are placed behind the lifts and a scratching post (Neko's old one, mom placed it by their bowls for them). Took a picture of it in the morning! Can tell from its "buay song" expression that it hates being disturbed when resting! Its favourite resting places include the couple's Volvo bonnet and mom's BMW bonnet.

I dismantled the iPod and look what I found! A minature harddisk with a huge capacity! Wow! The latest technology ne!

Hehe! No lah! Never dismantle our favourite iPod lah! But the minature harddisk is the real McCoy! It really works and has a storage of 1Gb in a disk the size of a 50 cents coin! This is the technology that allows iPod to have a storage of 40GB in such a small package! According to dad, there is a upcoming new technology that will allow up to 20 times more storage capability in the same disc size in the next few years. In other words, we can look forward to seeing a 40Gb iPod Mini or a 80Gb iPod!

Today was supposed to be my second model making lesson or so I thought. Until I smsed ZhenMing who informed me that today got no lessons at all according to the schedule posted to us by the organizer. I was like "ohhh...."! Hehe! I took the chance to slack in the afternoon by pretending that I still had the lesson! Cause I was really feeling very sianz being cooped up in the office. In the end, I went to NUS campus for the free connection and power they offer. So that I will be able to chat with my Ice Feline if she came online! I couldn't go home else bro would know if he came home, then I would be in "hot soup"!

Spent the afternoon in school watching the accumulated animes that I downloaded in the past few weeks. At 4pm , I left for Sim Lim Square, going there to pick up a set of stickers that the office ordered from a printing shop there. I also bought an extra 256Mb RAM for my laptop while I was there. Last time when I sent my laptop in for major repairs, they replaced my motherboard and the previous 256Mb RAM that I installed was gone! Now my laptop responds faster ne! Hehe!! Time to make it slave for me again!

So what my Ice Feline think? My Thursday very slack ne!

Ice Feline came online this morning! My Ice Feline very clever ne! Set up computer in living room! So excited to finally see her online! Long time never chat with her.. Really a long long time.. Missing her alot.. Wonder if she missed me too.. Had a great time chatting with her though it didn't last long. Was feeling very happy the whole day after that.

Now that she can be online, we can keep in contact ne! But after the morning MSN session, my Ice Feline never came online again.. What happened? Did I do something wrong? Is she ok? Smsed her many times but all no reply.. Sigh.. I am really lost.. I feel that we are not ok and that something is wrong between us but Ice Feline said we are ok.. Am I being over-sensitive? Did my Ice Feline receive my smses? If so, how come I never receive any replies? I feel like calling my Ice Feline.. But she said not to call..

Sigh.. What should I do? I feel very lost.. Really need to talk to my Ice Feline about us.. How do we carry on from here? I really love my Ice Feline alot.. But I have hurt her so much.. I dunno what she thinks about me now? I dunno if she can still love me after all the wrongs I have done.. It is all my fault.. All I can do now is to pray and hope that things will be better between us..

Every week I wish that I can meet my Ice Feline..
Every day I wish that I can call my Ice Feline..
Every hour I wish that my Ice Feline will be online..
Every minute I can't help thinking of my Ice Feline..

Hihi! How is my Ice Feline? Hope you are fine ne! 5 days of "nothingness" liao ne! How do you cope? Ice Feline stay home during the day when the renovations are on-going? How you bear with the noise and the dust? Every room in your house gonna be renovated?

Must take a lot of pictures of your new renovated home and show me ne, my Ice Feline!

Got my LV wallet back yo! with my IC inside! Smelling as good as before! But there are some parts of the leather is darker than others(not really visible in photo) - think it is because the wallet got wet in the Downtown East Wild Wild Wet ride we went on last time... Sorry... I was negligent in taking care of my favourite wallet that Ice Feline and me bought together...

But it will always be my favourite wallet and I will cherish it forever!

The parts of the "Aegis Gundam" that I made at the course today! (Very little ne! Hehe!)

Today is the first lesson of the model making course which is being conducted in Parklane shopping centre (near Sim Lim Square) in a model kit shop called "Achtung!". Initially we were supposed to get our gundam model kits from the shop itself at a 30% discount but because of the typhoon, their shipment has been delayed and we had to get our own models... The organizer suggested that we go Takashimaya to purchase our kit cause Takashimaya is having a 20% discount on Gundam model kits!

So off I went to Takashimaya before the start of the lesson at 2pm to look for the "Aegis Gundam", the red one that me and Ice Feline both took a liking to! Takashimaya was packed with people buying Christmas presents! There was a lady queuing in front of me who bought 10 different toys and I overheard her talking to her friend that she was only half-done with her Christmas shopping!

Saw some lovely clothes for my Ice Feline at Takashimaya too yo! Next time we go see together ne!

Arrived at the McDonald's where we supposed to be gathered at around 1.45pm. At first I thought I was late and went to search for the classroom frantically everywhere in the shopping centre. I couldn't find anyone anywhere! Just as I was about to descend to the first floor in the lift, I looked out and saw someone sitting at McDonald's with the same "Aegis Gundam" model kit! Ha! Finally found them!

There I met with another fellow participart, ZhenMing, a year 2 Chem Engineering student from NUS too! He told me that he has been sitting there since 1.30 pm and saw no sign of the organizer. And we just sat there and chatted. Then he received a sms from the organizer, saying that he was on his way to meet us.

Guess what? The organizer came in his Army smart 4! He was a regular and he sneaked out his lunch break to meet us cause the guy he previously arranged to meet us was "missing in action". He had to rush back to camp afterwards. Then the owner of "Achtung!", who's also the teacher of the course, came and we were brought into his model kit shop which was cluttered everywhere with all kinds of models! It was a sight to behold!

Next time I bring you there ne, my Ice Feline! How about we learn together?

The owner was a tall, skinny man in his 30s has a deep passion for robot animes and model making! We were told to sit around a small bench table area in the corner of the shop and he introduced us to the "art of model making"! We were taught how to cut the pieces off cleanly, how to use the pen knife to remove the excess bits, how to smooth the surface of the parts using sand paper and how to fuse the parts together using cement! Never knew serious model making required so many steps and so much precision!

We were told to assemble the parts that are of the same colour first, to facilitate the painting process later. This is only the preliminary step. After assembling, the owner said we have to apply putty on the gaps in the parts so that the finished part will look smooth after painting and afterwards, a layer of surfacing to see if the surface of the model is smooth! Wah! So tedious ne!

In the middle of the course, a customer came in and asked about the availability of a gundam model in the shop. Then we ended up talking about the anime "Gundam Seed" with the customer whose name was "Terry", a 24 year old Poly student just out from army. Me, ZhenMing and him talked about gundam models, gundam anime and everything. It was actually quite fun!

Terry is one of the few people that is still actually using a 56Kbps modem to go online! He switching to cable soon.

Quite a day at model making huh? I enjoyed myself there yo!

Potato Monday Delight

No more Monday Blues today! Know why? Cause me got to call my Ice Feline at home ne! Hehe!! We haven't chatted on the phone for quite some time - was jumping with joy when she replied my sms and said that I could call her home! But unfortunately I couldn't chat for a long time... My parents are keeping watch on me and I can't sneak out of the office too long before they would call me on my handphone... =(

Sorry ne, my Ice Feline... But I had a great conversation with you albeit short! Was feeling very happy after that!

I managed to sell my Xda O2 to office colleague's friend's sister for $550 inclusive of the WiFi wireless network card. I gained $250 more than if I just trade it in at Singtel, which offers only a maximum of $300 trade-in value for any phone. The sale is considerably okay in my opinion, considering that I dun really know of any other avenue of sales and me too lazy to look for them. A 2nd-hand handphone outlet would have offered a lower price. The most important thing is that I got more funds to buy the Nokia 7270 for my Ice Feline! =D

The typical routine this weekend again - Eat, Sleep, Play Game, Watch Anime, Pulish Blog! That's IceF =^.^= again! She's now a base Lv 47 and job Lv 35 swordsman! 15 more Lvs to becoming a Crusader! がんばて!!

The flower shop called me after they delivered the flower arrangement that a lovely and pretty (you ne!) received it! Hehe! Filled with joy hearing that! Of course, my Ice Feline the prettiest!

Picture of Neko sleeping in "fetal" position! Can see it licking its front paw? Its injury got worst because it found a way to bite off the bandage and "gain access" to its left hind paw and licked it again! Bad Neko!

BMW 645! It's a BMW coupe (2 doors sports car) that bro got the parents interested in purchasing.. Like its exterior design (Sorry for the poor photography, hope U can see its ext. design too..) but its interior quite complicated.. The steering wheel alone has 10 buttons on it! Can't even tell which one is the horn! It's got a powerful engine (more for racing purposes). But I still think Peugeot 607 Feline suits us better ne, my Ice Feline!

Last night, we celebrated Great Grandpa Potato's (dad's - Great Grandpa Potato means the father of Grandpa Potato) birthday! Dad was in an exceptionally good mood ne.. It's his 53rd birthday.

Sorry.. Last night too tired and fell asleep halfway through blogging.. Now reposting last night's post!

Neko again! Yesterday was its 8th birthday! Old cat ne! Thinking about it, it always spend its birthday with an injury!

This was the birthday cake we bought to celebrate dad's and its birthdays! Yesterday was Neko's birthday and todya is dad's! So we celebrate together ne! Tonight we going for seafood treat at Big Splash at East Coast.

Brother bought a blue iPod Mini yesterday.. Not as a present for dad or Neko, just for himself.. Small and light but I still prefer my personally engraved iPod which in my personal opinion looks nicer and more sleek in design with a bigger screen! A larger storage for dual purposes as a Mp3 player/storage and a portable harddisk! Cool yeah!

Love my iPod, especially when it is so meaningful! Cause me and my Ice Feline bought them together, each with a unique engraving of our nicknames for each other!

But unfortunately, Ice Feline's iPod is now out of order...

Have to get to work.. Mata ne!

Potato First Piece of Work Done!

Second day at work!

Hehe!! Me getting the hang of pretending to look busy when I am actually doing nothing!

Today had many close "encounters" - Dad came up from behind me a few times and stood observing what I was doing.. Luckily I "happened" to be playing with the joystick controls and looking at the program source code. Before he could ask me anything, I quickly talk cock about my findings and exclaimed that it was a tough job to link the joystick movements to the motion control of the machine! (Hehe! Na na ni na na! You can't catch me! )

This is my first piece of work that I completed at my job in the office. This is the flowchart that I mentioned yesterday! It depicts the flow of events that will be taken by the PLC for the speed checking of the machine spindle (FYI: spindle is a rotating inverted funnel-shaped motor). Drew the flowchart with Microsoft Visio Pro 2003 which made the job so much simpler! The connecting arrows are adjusted automatically when you move the connected boxes! Saves much time on formatting yo!

Potato Monday Again!!

A typical day at work in the office... (to me that is! )

I spent more time trying to find stuff to update and install than do my actual work of a model "PLC program". Was trying to draw the flowchart today... So started off by trying to find a free copy of Microsoft Visio to help me draw beautiful flowcharts! Well, the story goes... First I google for Microsoft Visio, then while it was downloading, I entertained myself by surfing net... And lo and behold, before I know it, I was downloading a bunch of software updates and installing more new software like FireFox 1.0 and MSN Plus!!

Hehe... Think my boss (dad) knows that I am slacking off cause I recevied quite a few menacing glares from him... Talk about a bad impression on the first day of work! Oh well, it's not my first time liao!

Biased pig trotters for dinner today! This is considered a delicacy and specialty in Grandpa Potato's family! Usually we only have pig's trotters for birthdays and special occasions. Dunno what is the special occasion today ne...

But nvm! 美食当前，先吃再说! Had a great dinner tonight yo!

Want to know how biased pig trotters are made? The ingredients are simple ne! Garlic, Ginger, Chilli (if you like it spicy), Soya sauce, Black/Brown sugar and most important of all, the Pig trotters! Put all the ingredients into a pressure cooker and mix well. Cover the cooker and bring it to bring under high heat. Once it starts to boil, simmer in low heat for around 10mins! You dun want to cook it too long, else the pig trotters will taste mushy... Seperate the trotters from the sauce and leave to cool! There you have it - Biased Pig Trotters!!

This is "Midori no Hibi", translated as "The days of Midori". Was reading this comic this evening which I downloaded online under Gan's (my genius friend) recommendation. This comic is really funny! It's about a girl called Midori who had a crush on the school's greatest "bad boy" aka "Mad Dog" (I know this doesn't remotely look like a mad dog but just pretend it is one! This is the best picture I can find), Sawamura! She had such a crush on him and longed to be with him so much that she woke up one day and became his right hand!

And the comics dish out more stories of how Sawamura changed for the better and stopped fighting because he had to protect Midori who is now his right hand! It's filled with very funny stories about teenage love and craze! You got to read it to know how funny it is!

Potato Sunday!

Today was a lazy sunday! Didn't do much - wake up, eat breakfast, watch tv, eat lunch, watch anime, play game, chat with my Dear Ice Feline! Steamboat dinner (very full, shirt bursting at the seams after dinner!), play some more game and now it's time to sleep! =)

Hey! Wait a minute! I made a user manual about posting pictures using the Hello program this morning yo! Hehe!! I got do some work ne! Not so lazy afterall! =P

Here is a picture of me, Zhongwei and Enyong partying up in Ro today! We were slashing our way through Bears! At least me and Zhongwei were! Enyong had a head start in the Iris2 server and his character is already level 72! He's here to help us level up faster! =D

Well, gotta go sleep! Need to wake up early tomorrow morning! Starting work again tomorrow! Think I am going to have the 'Monday Blues'~

Grandpa Potato's Ro Adventure!

Started to play Ragnorok Online again! I am playing with Zhongwei and Enyong. A good way to pass the time this short holiday. Games are more fun when friends play together! =D

My character's name is "IceF =^.^=" and she will be becoming a crusader. A crusader is a character who will be the shield of the team coupled with the powerful holy sword techniques - holy cross and ground cross. A crusader is also able to heal herself. She will be a one woman fighting machine - able to take damage and deal huge damage to multiple enemies at the same time! Powerful yo~

Well, she will be that powerful in time to come... But currently she is a level 30 swordswoman. Must ganbate train my IceF =^.^= so she can be powerful soon!!

Grandpa Potato's Animals

Grandpa Potato has lotsa of pets - a cat named Neko, a hamster named Lucky, a tortise named 小黄, 2 rabbits Toto and Bibi!! My little field is filled with some of their endeavours too! With their cute behaviours and funny acts, they are sure to bring delight to many yo!

Let me introduce Neko the cat and Lucky the hamster to you all first!

Here is Lucky!!

It is a cute grey/charcoal hamster that my brother bought! It is highly hyperactive but only at night! When the lights are off and its cage covered with a towel for warmth, you can hear it scurrying around in its cage and chewing off the towel - its favourite past-time! It is always eating non-stop 24-7. Even when it is sleeping. if you hold a grain near it, it will grab it and chew on it in its sleep! Talk about Gluttony!! XP

Next we have Neko!!

It's our favourite cat, Neko Chan!! It's of 'ragdoll' breed. Why called 'ragdoll'? It's because cats of this breed will go limp when you hold them up by the skin on the back of their necks! Dun worry - doing so won't hurt them! It's how the mother cats carry their kittens around, by biting onto the same area of the kittens' skin.

Neko is a lazy cat - it spends most of its time sleeping! Not surprising for cats who can sleep up till 16 hours a day! So much for Sloth! But Neko is very meticulous about its cleaniness, it is constantly grooming itself till the point that its skin get injured by the rough surface of its tongue! Its paws are especially vulnerable... As can be seen from its photo taken today, its left hind paw is being bandaged caused the wound is too ghastly to behold! Even the vet was shocked and had to remove all the fur to treat the wound! Poor Neko!
